Tile removal and floor prep
What's under the old tiles decides how the new floor will perform, so removal and prep isn't a step to rush. A floor that's screeded and levelled properly first means the new tiles sit flat, rather than telegraphing the dips and slopes of the old surface.

What the job involves
Old tiles and adhesive taken up, floors screeded or levelled ready for the new finish.
What's included
Removal of old tiles and adhesive
Substrate inspection for damage or unevenness
Screeding or levelling compound where required
Disposal of old tile waste
Floor left ready for the new tile finish

Before you get in touch
Will my room be properly square before you start?
We set the layout out on the floor with you before fixing anything down, which is where an out-of-square room gets picked up and planned around.
What if there's damage under the old tiles?
If we find water damage or rotten timber once the old tiles are up, we stop and show you before doing anything extra. One shower base we lifted had rotten timber underneath; it was rebuilt with a proper fall before re-tiling.
My floor has a dip or isn't flat. Will new tiles fix that?
Not on their own. We check the floor and level it first instead of tiling straight over the problem, which is how an uneven floor ends up flat under the new tiles.
Can you match a single broken tile instead of retiling the whole room?
Yes. We've replaced single cracked tiles, from a kitchen floor to patterned porch tiles, matching as closely as we can to what's already there.
Do we supply the tiles or do you?
Either. Tiles are supplied by you or ordered through us at cost, and the quote states which.
Which suburbs do you work in?
Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale, Aberfeldie, Strathmore, Niddrie, Airport West, Pascoe Vale South, Travancore and Keilor East.
How long does a bathroom or laundry take?
A laundry or toilet floor is typically done in a day or two. A full bathroom re-tile takes longer; we'll give you a timeframe with the written quote.
How the job is priced
A written, itemised quote follows an inspection of the existing floor. Cost depends on how much tile and adhesive needs removing, the condition of the substrate underneath, and how much levelling or screeding the floor needs before new tiles can go down.
